Description

One Cartridge not a Box: 12 Gauge Shot Shell by the now closed Wanda Cartridge company of Houston, Texas, USA . Produced in 1968 before the company closed in 1971. Transparent red plastic case  with ”WANDA PAT. 12 PEND.” Head-Stamp and “3¾-1¼-7½” printed on the red case. As these are plastic cases in bulk 25 round boxes, there may be a few minor scratches in being mover over the last 50 years.

History of the Wanda Cartridge Company:
In 1967, the Wanda Cartridge Company began production of its all-plastic shotgun shells in Houston, Texas.
They produced shells in 12 and 20 gauge only, than the company ceased operations in 1971 after 3 or 4 short years.
These are getting hard to find today over 50 years later at this writing in early 2020.
A short story on shot-shells:Shot-Shells have been produced for over 2 centuries in many sizes, from 00 gauge to .360 gauge  and also in millimeters sizes.
For those not familiar with shot-shells the lower the gauge number the larger the size.
A 20 gauge is smaller then a 16 gauge, a 16 gauge is smaller then a 12 gauge etc.
A gauge is a unit of measurement in shotguns, determined by the number of lead balls the size of the gun’s bore (inside barrel diameter) that can be produced out of a pound of lead.
A 20 gauge gun size has 20 balls per pound, a 12 gauge has 12 balls, hence the smaller the gauge number the large the bore or size of the shell
