One cartridge, not a box: .22 Nosler loaded by Nolser USA with a “ NOSLER 22 NOSLER” Head-Stamp and loaded with a 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip Boat-tail projectile.
History of the .22 Nosler Cartridge:
From the Nosler Web-Site : “.22 Nosler is the newest and most diminutive member of the Nosler cartridge family.
While it does not share the same parent cartridge as its predecessors, it does possess the same spirit in fulfilling an important role.
The 22 Nosler was born from the idea of creating the most powerful .22 caliber centerfire cartridge that would reliably function in the AR platform.
Compared to the 223 Remington / 5.56 NATO, the 22 Nosler has 25% more case capacity making it roughly 300 fps faster at the muzzle for maximized performance.
How hard is it to retrofit an existing AR-15 chambered in 223 Rem / 5.56 NATO into a 22 Nosler? Switch to a 6.8 Remington SPC magazine along with a simple 22 Nosler barrel swap and the transformation is complete.
Approaching 22-250 velocities in a significantly smaller package, the 22 Nosler® yields nearly 25% more capacity than the 223 Rem/ 5.56 NATO making the round capable of pushing a 55 grain Nosler BallisticTip bullet at 3,350 fps out of an AR-15 fitted with an 18” barrel and a 77gr. Custom Competition® bullet at 2,950 fps.
