History of the Remington Etronx (Electric Primed) cartridges:
Remington introduced the  Electric Primed “Etronx” in the  mid to late 1990’s, in three  calibers loaded by the factory,  220 Swift,  22-250 Remington,  and 243 Winchester.
The case, propellant and bullet  are conventional components, the difference is in the primer,  the EtronX system utilizes a  patented technology to  electronically discharge the  round.
The Rifle was a Traditional 700 Remington had a retail on $1,999.00  and was not affordable or well  received by the general public.
These are Factory loaded cartridges and considered Obsolete and no longer made by Remington

History of .220 Swift cartridge:
The 220 Swift was developed by Winchester from the 6mm Lee case, introduced by Winchester in 1935, chambered in the Winchester Model 54 bolt-action rifle, and later in 1936 in the Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle.
The 220 Swift was an exceptionally fast cartridge for its time, given the powders available in 1935, and it is still one of the fastest calibers today with speeds over 4,100 feet per second, making it still a great varmint cartridge today.
Remington offered an electric primed rifle and cartridge in 220 swift, along with 25-250 Remington and 243 Winchester calibers in 2000. (Those cartridges will not work in a normal primed rifle.)
The popularity of the 220 Swift waned with the introduction of the Remington 22-250 in 1965; however it is still a great caliber.

Near mint, nice *patina started on the case, a small amount or oxide on bullet, can be wiped off with oiled rag.
*Most collectors like the patina (tarnish) on older obsolete cartridges, if you do not you can use brass polish, I would not. Corrosion is not patina, it is a dark stain, and if we sell any cartridges with corrosion we will state it on the web-site.
Please see below in related items for other versions of this caliber for collectors.
