One Cartridge, not a box: .338 Federal loaded by Federal Cartridge Company using new Federal brass cases with a “F.C.  338 FEDERAL” Head-Stamp and blue/green primer sealer slightly over running the head-shamp, Loaded with a 200 grain, Fusion or JSP (Jacketed Soft Point projectile.

History of the .338 Marlin Express Cartridge:

Introduced to the market in April of 2006, the .338 Federal was then Proprietary Cartridge designed by Sako Rifle Company and Federal Cartridge Company.

The cartridge is basically a necked up .308 Winchester to .338 Caliber.This cartridge has a velocity of 2830 feet per second, 200 feet per second more than the standard .308″ round in the 308 Winchester with the larger diameter .338 projectile.

In 2006 it was only used in a Sako Rifle, however today many companies are producing rifles chambered in this caliber.
