Description

Please note in the above picture (right side, second down) Left to right: .338 Projectile, .338 Razorback cartridge, case formed .338 Razorback Case, and 10 mm Auto cartridge. For size comparison.

One Cartridge not a box: .338 Razorback Wildcat by Underwood Ammo Company USA, using Underwood 10mm Auto brass cases  still having the “Underwood 10mm” Headstamp reformed to accept .338 caliber bullets and loaded with a 300 grain Nosler Custom Competition™ Jacketed Hollow Point Boat-Tail rifle bullet.
The boxes reads: “ 338 Razorback 300 gr Hollow Point Boat Tail 1000 fps” which is a lot of mass moving at 1,000 FPS, subsonic speed for close hunting or combat.

Please note: this cartridge is shorter then the .338 Spectre which uses a 10mm Magnum case vs the 10mm Auto case. See below in related items.

History of the .338 Razorback cartridge:
The .338 Razorback cartridge is a wildcat cartridge, allegedly created by Jeff Mager with the rifle barrels by Ron Williams and Jim Caudill, who called it the “nanosonic” or “nano sub” with the idea of a small case just big enough to drive a large .338 caliber bullet at subsonic speeds in an AR15 platform.
The wildcat cartridge is produced by taking a 10mm Auto pistol cartridge and necking it down to .338 caliber for use in an AR15 platform at sub-sonic speeds.
For use in urban warfare, tactical work in close quarter combat, hunting or just for a lot of fun.
