Description
One Cartridge , not a box: .400 Nitro, 3″, JSP, Older production by Kynoch of England, factory loaded using (Then) new Kynoch brass cases with a “KYNOCH .400 NITRO” Head-Stamp and loaded with a JSP (Jacketed Soft Point) projectile with 3 crimps. Very Hard to find HeadStamp. Near Mint, heavily annealed, nice patina.
History of .400 Nitro Express cartridge:
The 400 Nitro, also called 400 Nitro Express, 400 Jeffery Nitro Express 450-400 Nitro Express and 450/400 Jeffery was developed in the early 1900’s and was popular sporting cartridge in Africa and India.
The cartridges were produced by various manufacturers and used in double drilling rifles.
