History of the 44 Colt Cartridge:
The 44 Colt was introduced in 1871 for the U.S. Army, but only used until 1873.
The cartridge was used in the Colt 1860 converted percussion revolver and Remington 44 Army revolver.
Obsolete since 1940 by the larger brand name cartridge manufactures like Winchester, Remington, and Federal accept by small custom makers.
