One Cartridge, not a box, the picture of the box is for reference only One Cartridge not a box: .458 LOTT by Hornady USA, factory loaded using new Hornady brass cases with a “ HORNADY 458 LOTT” Head-Stamp and loaded with a 500 grain DGS, or FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) Projectile.
History of the cartridge:
The .458 LOTT was designed by the famous African hunter (of the day) Jack Lott and introduced as a wildcat in 1971 for large dangerous game hunting as an advantage overt he 458 Winchester Magnum.
It was standardized by SAAMI in 1995 due to A-Square’s Company work, being the first the company to offer the cartridge commercially in 1989.
The case was originally design by fire forming (widening) the.373 H&H case to except .458″ projectiles.
