History of the cartridge:The .458 LOTT was designed by the famous African hunter (of the day) Jack Lott, andintroduced as a wildcat in 1971 for large dangerous game hunting as an advantage overthe 458 Winchester Magnum.It was standardized by SAAMI in 1995due to A-Square’s work, being the first the company tooffer the cartridge commercially in 1989.  The case was originally design by fire forming (widening) the.373 H&H case to except .458″projectiles.
