One Cartridge, not a box: 6.5 Grendel by Alexander Arms, USA, factory loaded using Hornady brass cases with “HORNADY 6.5 GRENDEL” Head-Stamp and loaded with a 123grain Lapua Scenar Match Grade, JHPBT (Jacketed Hollow Point Boat-Tail) projectile.

History of the 6.5 Grendel cartridge:Introduced in 2003, the 6.5 Grendel was the result of years of development and testing by Alexander Arms to produce an intermediate size cartridge for the military M1 or AR-15, AK rifle platforms to deliver performance meeting or exceeding the 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester) with less recoil.Due to the superior ballistics of 6.5mm projectiles and the high efficiency cartridge design, the 6.5 Grendel improves upon 7.62 NATO military loadings with better energy at ranges in excess of 400 meters.The 6.5 Grendel started off as a wildcat cartridge by blowing out the shoulder and necking down the 7.62×39 Russian to except 6.5 diameter projectiles. Now used in some law enforcement and military agencies.
