History of the 9mm Steyr Cartridge: The 9mm Steyr was introduced in 1912 for the Austrian Military Model 1912 Auto Pistol.This cartridge was also used in the Romanian and Chilean Military.The case is app. 23mm long, compared to the 9x9mm Luger case.Velocity is app. 1,200 Feet per Second, and Energy is app. 365 Foot Pounds.
