Description

Please Note: in picture above (Bottom Right) 9×23 Left vs 9mm Luger Right, note the 9×23 has a thicker case web, and is 4mm longer case in length over 9x19mm Luger

One cartridge, not a Box: 9×23 Winchester factory loaded by Winchester using new Winchester brass case with a “WIN 9×23 WIN” Head-Stamp and loaded with a 124 grain JSP (Jacketed Soft Point) projectile.

History of the 9x23mm Winchester cartridge:

The 9x23mm Winchester was designed by John Ricco and introduced in 1996, after much time was spent in courts on patent infringements by Winchester.

The 9x23mm Winchester is designed with a very thick web (case base) so as to handle 48,000 P.S.I. (pounds per square inch), so, for this reason, never use a 9x23mm Winchester in a 9mm Largo pistol, as the 9mm Largo pistols are not built to handle that amount of pressure.

Some shooters consider the 9x23mm Winchester cartridge to be the best caliber available for the 1911 pistol frame, but the cartridge is used very little today.
